For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch. The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will bestow. You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD's hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your G-d. No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married. As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your G-d rejoice over you.

3. Zechariah 13:1

On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.

4. Psalm 25:15-18

12. G-d is offering you the exact same things the world is. He increases our desire. Desire is painful - and many are too deep.

For we will surely die and become like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. Yet G-d does not take away a life, but He devises means, so that His banished one are not expelled from Him.

...and I was in a Sunday school class that was studying the Screwtape Letters - one of my favorite books. One Sunday, our teacher was gone, so I put the following note on the door:

My Dear Wormwood,

The human known as "Dr. Rushton" has abandoned his flock to go to Houston for a disgusting human ritual devised by the Enemy known as "marriage." This is an excellent opportunity to attack if his students do not think of going upstairs to the adult Sunday school class.
